A warm and sunny Saturday cleared up the rainning spell in Taipei. People strolled around Da’an Forest Park not only because they were enjoying the sun-kissed weather, but because an Islamic culture fair was taking place. On December 23rd, Chinese Muslim Association in Taiwan commemoratedit’s 80th anniversary with a grand ceremony and muslim culture fair featuring 60 booths.
The event lead to a delightful success with both muslims living around Taipei and citizens’ participating. Huge crowds flacked in Daan Park to try out Halal food and cultural activities. Authentic cuisine from Turkey, Indonesia, India, Iran, etc. were definitely favored by the public and no suprisingly most of the them were sold out soon before noon.
Apart from experiencing muslim culture through the taste, there were also chances for you to see, to touch and wear. People waited in a long queue to try temporary henna tattoo or have their first time to wear hijab.
Halal XYZ co-exhibited with International Muslim Student Association in NTUST to offer Arabic calligraphy and hijab experience activity.
Young muslim artists also seized the chance to have their design met with the public. Booths like watercolor lettering, handmade craft and jewelries, postcards were the highlights. The designer patiently explained their idea to the visitors who are not familiar with islam culture meanwhile enjoyed a great time to meet with their muslim brothers and sisters at this festive gathering.
