Halal in Taiwan

According to the Chinese Muslim Association (CMA) and Taiwan Halal Integrity Development Association (THIDA) – two institutions authorised on Halal certification in Taiwan – there are only 76 restaurants, 40 hotels, 13320 products, and 489 local companies which have Halal certification.

Although 13320 products sound much, those products are scattered all across Taiwan’s supermarkets and convenience stores. Thus, make it difficult for Muslims to find those products. Usually, the information about a specific Halal product or service are from word-of-mouth.

Most of the Halal foods provided by Halal restaurants are owned by foreigners Muslims, from Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, turkey, etc.
